My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My mother once told me that bad news is just good news in disguise. – Sid Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Bad news was that Sweet Polly the pocket sized pup is a 3 year old Fox Terrier/Chihuahua mix was abandoned by her owners the good news is that she is now a member of the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue foster family.

This adorable little girl with her long neck, soulful eyes and flopped over ears reminds us of Sid from Ice Age; though she is anything but sloth like! Polly is FULL of energy when she is outside and loves to run laps in the back yard. Weighing in at about 16 pounds she has the short coarse coat like many Fox Terriers and sloths; but that is where the resemblance ends.

While Polly may be full of vigor when she is outside she seems to know to calm down when she comes back inside. Polly would love someone to take her jogging; but at the very least she will need a good walk or 2 every day. She is amazing on a leash and loves to sit in the car whether you are going anywhere or not!

She is house trained, crate trained and very, very quiet. While she is more than willing to watch TV on the bed, she prefers to sleep in a crate on the floor. Even when she wants a little quiet time, she heads to her crate.

She is okay with other dogs but she is pretty pushy with them. She has a dominant play style with other dogs her own size and will try to oust another dog for her spot on your lap. She corrects easily when you tell her to play nice but we think that an “only dog home” would be better than with other small dogs. Seems like she is just starved for attention and it is hard to share with them.

Because of her energy and how quickly she bonds, we think she would be fantastic with kids (thought we haven’t had her around any) but not as well suited with the elderly. She has no issues with social skills, is non-aggressive at feeding time and will nose right into the pack to get to her food and is not treat motivated but a “Good Girl” means the world to her. She just wants to belong to and love someone in the worst way.

Come out, come out wherever you are and adopt our favorite sloth, oops Fox Terrier Polly!

Please fill out the adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and we will get back to you about her.

There is an adoption fee of $40 + the cost of her vetting
