Meet Westie! She is a sweet young Hound mix girl. Westie is a playful, fun-loving little girl who just enjoys romping about with her kennel mate, Wallie and laying in the warm sun waiting for some human affection. She gets so excited when someone is around to show her attention that her little body wriggles with joy while being petted. A volunteer has said she has noticed no obvious bad habits that she has seen, but that she does like to play in the mud. She loves a cuddle, a head scratch and to rub up against your leg. She engages other dogs to play with her and will put her elbows on the ground and butt in the air. Westie enjoys a nice squeaky toy or a ball to play with. She also enjoys treats so training her should be a little easier with a reward. She rolls around in the grass and just wants to be loved. Can you be the right family for Weste? Does she sound like your kind of dog? Fill out an online adoption application today.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
