My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Angel is a survivor, who's singin' a tune about R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Her dubious owners abandoned her in their apartment when they moved, and the disgruntled landlord dumped her in the City Animal Control Shelter. It's a dog's bum luck to draw some of the nitwits that he/she has to depend on.

At least Angel was well fed when she was found, but she tipped the scales at a whopping 19 pounds. Obesity is not a flattering look on a Miniature Pinscher, nor does it suit the delicate legs and joints that are characteristic of this petite breed. Angel has slimmed down to 13 pounds through the combination of nutritious grain free kibble, omega fats, and exercise, but adopters should continue her spa plan to maintain her weight loss and ensure longevity.

Certainly, at the age of 7, Angel deserves a better life than she was given by her trusted owners, and we'd like to see that she gets it. Min Pins are hearty little dogs, and can live well into the upper double digits, if properly cared for. Angel has a long life in front of her, and she will truly blossom in a stable, loving environment.

Angel would be a great companion dog for an adult home, a single or couple who have small dog experience, and who have the patience to allow Angel time to relax and warm up. She can be shy at first meeting and suspicious of some strangers. She has made tremendous progress in foster care and she has behaved beautifully in a wide variety of situations.

Angel enjoys the company of calm, medium energy dogs, and could easily join a multi-dog home with one or two well behaved dogs. She is mild mannered enough to coexist with cats, and has not had much of a reaction to the few that she has met.

Angel is in excellent health and has been spayed, and had a full dental cleaning. She is vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). She has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been microchipped and dewormed.
