My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or Oklahoma City area.

NAME: Misti
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 3 - 4
WEIGHT: About 6 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other, Unsure on cats but we think she will be ok
CHILDREN: Misti is great with children

This sweet little girl was found walking down the street looking for someone to help her. You see, Misti had suffered some trauma to her head which then caused her eye to pop out of the socket. This must have happened at least a couple of weeks before she was picked up by animal control because it was pretty bad by the time she was taken in. As soon as Chihuahua Rescue heard about her, we rescued her and got her straight to the vet.

Upon arriving at the vet, Misti never once got snippy or fearful. Even when they were examining her, taking her temperature and checking out her injured eye, Misti never acted like she was going to take it out on the medical team. She was just the sweetest, most gentle, little girl. As soon as her eye was fixed, her personality blossomed!

Misti does not know a stranger. She is good with everyone she meets. She is also very good with the other dogs. Misti is now completely recovered and ready to find her a loving family that will keep her safe from harm and any further injuries. She is very playful and is a happy girl. You can tell she is a happy girl because her ears and her tail are always up! She loves to be in your lap and follow you around. Misti is not much of a barker, even when she gets excited.

Misti loves to play with toys. She goes to the toy box and roots around until she finds the one she wants and drags it into her crate. Sometimes her crate is so full of toys that she must sleep in another crate! She taught herself how to use the doggie door and will go in and out all day to potty and sunbathe. She is completely housebroken though, and will hold her potty until someone takes her out if that is the option.

Misti is very smart. She is already potty trained! Misti does tend to overeat so her new family will have to be very conscientious about how and what she is fed. No free feeding!!! Other than being mindful of her eating habits, Misti is going to be an easy addition to any family!

Misti is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $200 adoption fee required. (Note the medical bills for Misti were quite high, but CRT is holding a fund raiser to take care of them).
