Red's Story...
Red is a cautious guy and it takes him a while to trust. He will seek you out for attention and affection and isn't too shy to reach out and tap you on the arm to let you know he'd like to be petted. He's playful and active when he has a playmate and really seems to come out of his shell with his foster siblings. Red is very sweet and undemanding. He doesn't like to be held but he will sit on your lap if you work slowly to earn his trust. He is a great guy who will only continue to improve with a loving and calm household. And while we don't make a habit of feeding Red table scraps we have noticed that he becomes very interested in seeing what the humans are eating and, as politely as possible, inquires as to whether or not you might share a nibble with him. He is approx 2 years old.
All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on shots, combo tested negative for FIV/Leukemia and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Covington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Covington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Covington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Covington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Covington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Covington paves the way for another one to be saved.
