My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof! Woof! My name is ALPINE. I am a husky/Lab mix, but mostly on the husky side. My owner didn't take care of me and left me so unattended. I really needed lots of love and just appreciated even the least bit of attention from him, but he always seemed to busy. He fed me, I got fresh water, but I spent my days all alone in the back yard. He would occasionally let me come inside and that is where I learned to be house broken and to make sure that I always pooped/peed outside. But I spent so much time alone. One day, when my owner left for work, I got to missing him so much, I decided to follow after him and to find him. His truck could go much faster than I could run and before long, I was lost. Which way did he go? I wasn't sure and I found myself in places that I had never been before. But I thought I would depend on my own instincts to lead me to where I needed to be. Nose to the ground and sniffing the air, I traveled on. It got dark and I was really alone then. And scared, but I tried to be brave. I spend so many days and nights looking for my owner. Didn't he miss me? Wasn't he looking for me? I had a collar on, but no one knew my name. Finally, when I was so hungry and was trying to find food, a man picked me up and brought me to a place called a rescue. There were other dogs there too. We got great food and water. Finally a place for me to sleep. And the volunteers are so warm and wonderful to me. They are trying to find me a home where I will be loved all the time. But I keep getting overlooked. Smaller, cuter dogs find homes first and no everyone wants a larger dog like me. But they just don't know all the wonderful things I do. I am house broken, I shake, I give you warm wet kisses. I love other dogs, love to play with people large and small. I just want a home. A good home where they will love me.
I am already neutered, up to date on my vaccines, and on all monthly preventatives for heart worms, fleas/ticks, and parasites. I weigh about 55 lbs and have a beautiful thick coat. My spirit has just been broken because it seems that no one wants me. Please stop and look at me. If you don't like the photos you see, I have more. I love to have my picture taken. The volunteers are great to me, but I want to have my own place to call home.
