My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 4-year-old spayed female Wire-haired Dachshund/Terrier mix. I weigh about 18 pounds. I am sweet, adorable, loving, and calm. I get along well with other dogs and I love all my human companions. I am a very friendly little gal, but I can be slightly aloof when first meeting people. Trust me though, once I get to know you, I'll be your very best friend. I guess I want to be sure that you're sticking around before I fall in love with you. My previous owners didn't bother to spay me so, I ended up pregnant. Once my puppies were weened they decided that I was no longer needed and they sent me away to a local high-kill shelter. Out with the old, in with the new! I was pretty devastated. I felt so unwanted and betrayed. The one good thing about going to the shelter was that they spayed me. I'll never have to go through labor again! While I was at the shelter healing from my spay surgery, the staff took me to a few mobile adoption events in hopes that someone would open their home to me. Sadly, no one did. One of the volunteers at the shelter felt bad for me and decided to contact CageFree to ask them if they would accept me into their rescue. They said yes! I am so much happier here, but I can't wait to meet my new family. I'm excited to find my forever home!
