My name is Sophie!

This is 4-month old Sophie. She had a rough start on life, found down south in the woods with her brother, who had been injured by another animal. From there she went to a high-kill shelter where she luckily was rescued and then made the long overnight trip up to us in NJ, where she was separated from her brother and placed in a loving Foster Home in NJ on April 6th.

Initially scared and shy, she is blossoming into a full-fledged smart puppy, playing heartily with her foster home’s 3 dogs, and being curious but gentle with their cats. She self-housebroke when she discovered the doggie door (she’s very smart!), and she’s all full of wags and mischief with her toys and mom’s slippers. She follows her foster parents everywhere, and is growing like a weed.

She needs to find her forever home, because she’s starting to think she’s there, and we don’t want to see her little heart get broken again. Sophie needs someone who will not be harsh with her, as she corrects easily, and she responds fully to love and kindness. Come sit down and make friends with her—she’ll be devoted and adore you for taking her home.

She will probably be a medium/large dog—her paws are larger than her foster-sister’s 40-lb. full grown dog. She is utd on vaccinations, has been de-wormed, has a shiny coat and bright eyes.
