My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 60 lbs
Variety: Bench

Meet Sam! He's very sweet and has the typical energetic, loving, Velcro Springer personality. Sam is very handsome, with a soft coat and a cute "mop top" that appears when his fur grows out.

Sam is new to ESRA's program, so he is still settling into his foster home. However, we are starting to learn several things about him. After getting the exercise he needs, Sam loves to snuggle in for back scratches and belly rubs, followed by a nap at your side. He loves being close to his people! He has bonded quickly with his foster mom, as we expect he will do with his Forever Family.

Sam gets along with the two small dogs in his foster home, and he is working on getting to know the cats there. He does like to chase them, so it will be best for Sam to go either to a home with dog-savvy cats or to a cat-free environment. Although Sam has not been exposed to children in his foster home, he did live with children previously.

Sam's leash training is going well, and he is eager to learn. He is a high-energy dog that would benefit from a few obedience classes as well as an active family. As his foster mom says, "With a commitment to exercise, discipline, and love, Sam will be an awesome companion!"

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Sam.
