Easter's Story...
Easter is what folks are calling me these days, maybe someone decided on that because my gorgeous dilute calico coat reminded them of the pretty colored eggs at Easter time? I am a playful girl and like to bat around furry mice or a ball. I like sunny windows to perch in and scratching posts to stretch way out on. Treats are a nice thing too. I enjoy attention being patted and having my chin scratched but I am not one who loves to be picked up or fussed over all the time. I like getting attention on my terms; well I am a calico after all! I know how to appreciate my alone time too so will not always insist on being involved in everything you do. I was originally rescued by another feline group here in Massachusetts and those loving folks brought me here to the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter where they thought I would have a better chance at meeting my new family. If you think we may be a match stop on in to visit. Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Easter, a Gloucester Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
