OPIE's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

OPIE's Story...
Little Opie has had a tough time getting started in his young life. He's just as cute as a button, and he will make someone a great new best friend and companion. The only problem is that due to cataracts in both eyes, he has very little eyesight. He's a beautiful little Poodle, and he was two years old when he came to PAWS on 1-04-14. He came from another very small rescue that didn't have enough room for him, so they asked us to take him.

After we got him we took him to a canine ophthalmologist, and he feels if the cataracts are removed he can have normal (or almost normal) vision in both eyes. He said he usually does both eyes at the same time, and the total cost for the surgery will be between $2600 and $2900 (probably closer to $2600 than $2900). We don't have the money to do that, so we are looking for an adopter who is willing and able to have the surgery done so he can have a normal life.

He has been neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, tested for heartworm (he is negative), and he is current on his routine shots except for a rabies shot which a vet will have to give.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

OPIE, a Anna Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Anna, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Anna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Anna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Anna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Anna paves the way for another one to be saved.
