Meet Husky, one of the Final Four puppies who arrived in time for March Madness! (His mom, Carly, looks like an Airedale/terrier mix and we think dad might be a shepherd mix.) Like his namesake team, Husky is just that: a very big guy, with a winning personality! He is always the first one to jump in your lap for a snuggle. Although he is the largest of the litter he is also perhpas the sweetest, definitely a gentle giant.
Currently 8 weeks old, Husky weighs about 12 pounds, is paper trained and on his way to being house-trained. He is very well socialized, really loves people, and is used to playing with larger, older dogs.
You can meet Husky at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750 www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.
Husky's date of birth is 2/11/14 and his adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm preventative, and neuter.
March Madness play-offs are now over, and this big guy is ready to go home. Are you ready to add Husky to your team? Because he is so young, he will need a family where someone is home part or all day, to continue his potty-training and keep him socialized and exercised.
