My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lexie

Lexie is a beautiful 2 yr old yellow female Labrador. Her foster mom just can't say enough good things about her. Lexie is social, affectionate and well behaved.

Lexie loves to be where you are so you’ll never be alone. She likes to follow you around the house, just to make sure that you have enough kisses to last the whole day. If you like to cuddle while watching TV, Lexie is definitely your girl!

Lexie also could use a nice long walk every day to help keep her slim. She’ll be a great walking companion. You’ll get lots of compliments on how beautiful she is every time you go for a walk!

Lexie also loves to play keep away and tug. If you don't put them away, she will pick up socks and shoes and run off with them. She does like to fetch, but we are still working on "drop it” and “give”. She loves to carry a ball in her mouth and will “talk” with the ball still in her mouth to try to get you to take it from her. Silly girl!

Lexie crates up for her meals. This is to help associate the crate with good things, like food. Like many of us, Lexie needs to lose a few pounds. She weighed about 85 pounds when she came into the Lone Star program. It will be important to watch her figure and help her slim down. Remember... dogs don't get into the fridge on their own! If they are overweight, it is our fault.

Lexie’s next home must have a fenced yard that has at least a 6 ft wood privacy fence. She can jump really high. We want to be sure that she is safely confined when out in the yard. She would do best with children that are at least 8 years old.

Lexie enjoys visiting the dog park and gets along very well with the other dogs there, but she really prefers to keep close to her human. She gets along very well with her foster brother, a black Lab, and other dogs.

Run don’t walk to meet Lexie! She won’t be in our program much longer! Someone will snap her up!!
