My story

Please pick pretty Paula! She's a 1-2 year old Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix that was rescued from the Lorain County Dog Kennel. It's amazing that this sweet girl was there. She has a loving demeanor and is very affectionate as you can tell by her photo. Paula has been the perfect guest since her arrival and has quickly become a shelter favorite. Paula was recently adopted and returned. Her family loved her but had younger children and she played too rough with them. It's best if Paula were adopted by a family with older children. She is now a member of the Prison Training Program learning the skills she needs to be the best dog she can be.

On April 10, 2014, Paula was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. She is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institute. Paula is being trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. She will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.

If you are interested in adopting a prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. They can be downloaded at www.friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. A limited amount of apps will be accepted for each Prison Dog. They must be hand delivered to Friendship. If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321.

If you put in an adoption application on a prison dog and find another dog before they return, please inform Friendship.
