My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Odin and I am a big, handsome fawn boxer boy with huge boxer paws. I weigh 53 pounds now, but probably need to gain 5-10 more. I love to play rope and tug 'o war and to chase my Kong. If I pull my rope away, I'll politely offer it back to you to try again. My foster dad picked me up at the SPCA where I stayed for about 2 months. I had a bad eye infection when I got there, but those nice people fixed me up. My foster dad took me to an ophthalmologist after I got here and she said my eye was going to be just fine with a little more time to heal. The vet thinks I am about a year old, which makes me a puppy. I definitely have energy, and love to run on the treadmill at my foster dad's gym. Sometimes I get on there and look at him, like -- Well? Are you going to get this thing going? Here's my video if you want to see: http://youtu.be/Ruv87Qnzlzk (You will probably have to cut and paste)

I have met a couple children and think they're funny little people. I don't mind being around them one bit and am usually gentle with them, but I am still young and can get rowdy at times. Because of that, I should probably be in a home with older children - probably 12 and up. The lady at the SPCA told my foster dad that I was okay around other dogs, too. I met a french bulldog the other day and thought he was pretty ok. I have also met a lot of people because I hang out with my foster dad at the gym. I have to sniff them and check them out, but I have decided all of them are okay and I have never shown any aggression. I have not met any cats here, though, so I am not sure about them.

Since I spent so much time at the kennel, I am not too crazy about being in one here at my foster home. Dad has a big couch, and he covered part of it with a blanket. That is where I sleep. I know which part is mine and I stay there. I had a few accidents when he first brought me home because I was not used to being taken out. But now we have things figured out and I am just fine going outside. I like riding in the car and going for walks outside, too. I am also a good boy on the leash. I do need a nice, high fence in my backyard, though - at least 6 feet or so. Guess I'm what some might call an escape artist. Well, what can I say? We're not all perfect! I hope someone can make room for me in their home and hearts. I will be a great friend, and a good watchdog, too! So you'd better hurry up and fill out an app at www.goboxerrescue.com and ask for me by name.

UPDATE: Hey everybody -- Odin, here. My foster dad thought it would be good to update you all on how I am doing, which is very well! I love to snuggle and hang out, and I don't bark when people come in to the gym (like I use to when I first got here). I let people walk by without yelling at them and my foster dad says I make them laugh their butts off at least once a day. I have also been going to this awesome doggie day camp twice a week, and the people there tell dad that I socialize well. Camp Bow Wow is not only fun, but they are so nice, that they let me stay for free because they know I’m a foster. GOBR and my foster dad sure appreciates that. I’ve really settled in here in the last two months and my family is going to be sad to see me go, but we all hope I find my happily-ever-after soon.
