My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Evening to you!! Thanks for visiting my page! Let me share a little bit of information about myself so that we can get to know each other better

My name is Frankie and I’m a 10 year old neutered male Miniature Poodle who came to NBS Animal Rescue from a not so good home situation. You see, my previous owner had twelve poodles in our home...I was just one of the many dogs who lived there. Despite loving us, she wasn't able to provide each one of us with the love, care, attention, and cleanly conditions that we deserved so she reached out to NBS Animal Rescue to help find many of us a good home. I was super duper lucky to find the friendly volunteers at NBS Animal Rescue! They were so very gentle and kind to me, as I was really scared and unsure of new people when we left our old house. They gave us a warm bath, gently scrubbed our matted and dirty fur clean, took us to a really gentle groomer who shaved all those nasty mats in our fur that hurt so badly, took us to the doggy doctor for a check-up, and gave us a warm and snuggly bed to sleep in with all the doggy food and fresh water we could want. It just swell.

Since then, I’ve been doing better every day. I’ve been around other dogs, cats, and kids. I can get possessive over my stuff with other dogs sometimes so I prefer to be the only doggie in a home to soak up all the love, but I do fine with other mellow dogs. I’m easy going, and love to go for walks. I even had a part-time job this summer at a local high school. While I was there I let the teens learn important lessons about canine care, and even let them practice first aid with me. They were so gentle and kind…and it helped that they took me to Dairy Queen.

I do have Cushing's Disease. Don't worry it's not contagious and it's easy to take care of! I need a daily thyroid medication that luckily isnot very expensive at all! It does not affect my quality of life and I am very happy and healthy otherwise! Sometimes I can get a little more thirsty and drink a bit more than the normal dog (this is a result of the Cushing's) so someone who is home to let me out side more often is ideal! I may have an accident or two in the house, is that OK?

I promise that I'm a super sweet fella who is looking for a family to love me and show me the individual attention and care that I've missed in my previous home. So if you like vanilla ice cream from Dairy Queen, and/or would like to have a cuddle buddy –please think about adopting me, Frankie.

My adoption fee is $125.00 and includes, 30 days of my thyroid medication, DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
