Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mojo! (aka Jo)
Age: 2 years | Gender: Male
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Children: Older | Dogs: YES | Cats: YES
Status: Adoptable
Have you met Mojo? (aka Jo!)
This sweet little 2 year old chihuahua mix (possibly crossed with a Basenji) is a charmer in every sense of the word, and full of character.
He is very loyal to his family, and loves to talk. Mojo absolutely LOVES being close to his humans, and is happiest when he can be curled up on a lap or under a blanket. He currently goes to work with his foster mom almost every day, and is good as gold in an office where he and his foster sister are the unofficial greeters to a multitude of people. While he would prefer to accompany his humans everywhere, he is also independent enough and absolutely fine if left home alone for a reasonable amount of time - he has yet to chew anything he shouldn't, or get into trouble.
Mojo loves to play with his toys, eat his vegetables (carrots are one of his favourites), cuddle, go on walks, and sun himself outside. His foster sister has recently taught him how to play fetch, which he adores. Don't let his small stature fool you - this little guy is faster than he looks, and he sure can jump!
He is working hard on learning basic obedience skills, and is an eager spectator in his foster sisters weekly advanced obedience class where he is learning how to trust and socialize with strange humans and dogs. Mojo always asks politely (but non-vocally) when he wants to go outside, but since he is so small and quiet it's sometimes hard to see him. So, he is currently learning how to ring a bell when he wants to go outside, and is doing really well. Mojo is very eager to please, and would continue to thrive in a home that will teach him the skills he needs to become the best dog possible. He'd be a great candidate for dog dancing, and maybe singing too. Canines Got Talent, perhaps?!
We believe Mojo would do best in a home where he gets lots of attention, and plenty of affection. He would be the perfect addition to someone retired, semi-retired, or with a flexible schedule who can spend lots of time with him as their loyal sidekick. While he is a pretty easygoing dog for the most part, he is very, very sensitive to bikes, motorcycles, and skateboards, but with time and fair training he could learn that they aren't out to get him and barking isn't necessary :)
Regardless of any preconceived notions about smaller dogs, Mojo is so fun that he manages to convert those who don't think they like small dogs into fans in no time flat with his charm and sweet disposition!
