Facts about Olivia

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: Olivia
  • Hair: Short
Olivia wants nothing more than to be your constant companion, right by your side throughout the day or evening purring contentedly. She’s very affectionate, but not pushy, and happily curls up next to you on her cat bed while you work. She will sometimes gently request attention by gently placing her paw on your hand or back if you’re laying down, and a few chin scratches are exactly what she wants. Olivia loves to sleep on the bed with her human, sometimes she comes up and lays on your chest or a pillow for snuggles, others she curls up at the foot of the bed on her cat bed for double the comfort at night. Olivia is a dignified girl but she does like to be held and cuddled with in your arms for a few minutes before she requests you put her back on the couch. She has very expressive green eyes and likes to have conversations where she meows back as you talk to her, especially during mealtime!

Olivia is pretty much always purring if she’s with you, she spends a lot of her time relaxing and napping but she notices right away if you get up and she’ll quietly meow at you as if to ask where you’re going. Olivia was given up by her former owners and placed in the Montgomery county shelter when she was already a senior cat. When the shelter switched from private to public management her time was about to be up, luckily 4Paws was able to step in and take her. Sadly through no fault of her own Olivia was adopted and returned again after that. Olivia is looking for a forever home where she can live a spoiled and happy life as the only special kitty in your house.

Olivia is a senior cat. She’s been spayed, micro-chipped, is up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoption fairs are held once or twice a month at various PETCO stores in Northern Virginia. The adoption fairs are usually held on Saturday’s from 1:00 to 5:00. Between 30 and 60 cats and kittens are shown for adoption at each fair—with the larger fairs generally occurring April through October.

While they are waiting to find permanent loving homes, our cats temporarily live in foster homes. The foster families bring the cats and kittens to the adoption fairs to be seen by potential adopters. Applicants have the opportunity to handle the cats and in some cases, meet the foster parents who can provide additional insight into a cat’s habits and personality.

Our Adoption Process...

At the adoption fairs, if you meet a kitten or cat that you want to adopt, you will be asked to complete an application and contract and leave a check for the adoption fee ($120 for an adult or $145 for un-neutered kitten of which $50 is a deposit that is refunded after you provide 4Paws proof of sterilization). We ask that you pay the adoption fee up front at the fairs in order to “put a hold” on the cat until your application is processed. If your application is not approved, your check is returned to you.

Neither cats nor kittens are sent to their new homes on the day of the fair. It usually takes 4-5 days to process the application before the cat can go to his or her adoptive home. Pre-approval is an option, though. To accelerate the adoption process, you can fax a completed application and contract to us at 703-560-9795 a few days before the fair. Adoption Applications are available on this website.
