My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ollie and Ixia are five-year-old German Shepherds in need of a loving new home. Their owners are retired and will be relocating. They cannot take the siblings with them and very much hope to find them another home where they can stay together. Ollie and Ixia are bonded siblings, almost mirror images. They are intelligent, loyal, and sociable, and enjoy being with people, including children. They are good around other dogs.

Ollie's formal name is Oliver. Named for Oliver Hardy, he is a sweet natured, easy going big guy. At 90 lbs, he is larger than his sister, yet takes the lead from her. Patience is one of his strongest virtues. He loves to play ball and is a tireless retriever, even if it is thrown in the water. A friend of the family's four-year-old child plays ball with Ollie and is able to take the ball from his mouth.

Ollie is a very strong swimmer. He also enjoys traveling and camping out with the family, and loves to run off leash. Ollie and Ixia sleep contentedly in the tent with the family while camping. At home they sleep indoors with a door left ajar so they can go outdoors if they need to.When home they stay close. They have never attempted to get out of the yard or to dig. If a stranger approaches, they will bark, but soon settle down.

Both Ollie and Ixia are up to date on vet visits and have records from when they were 9 weeks old. They are ok on leash, but can use more work. They are more used to being off leash, where they are responsive to voice command.
