Meet Wendy! She and her canine sister Betsy belonged to an elderly lady who only provided their baisc needs, but not many things that make for a happy life for a dog. They have been living in a downstairs basement area with very little human interaction, no play time, excercise or toys, and almost no outdoor time because there was no fenced area. Concerned neighbors have resently took over the responsibilities of caring for the dogs. Both dogs are extremely receptive to attention, positive reinforcment, and both have very sweet dispisitions. They have been trained to use newspaper while living in the basement but seem to prefer using the outdoors now that neighbors are walking them daily. Wendy is a 5 year old, 12 lb cairn terrier mix. She recently made her first visit to the groomer and is very proud of her new look. She is curious and kind towards other dogs and does not appear to mind cats.Wendy walks well on a leash and is learning to respond to her name. She is a little skiddish when she first meets a new person but quickly makes friends. We have not had Wendy around children but do not see any reason for concern and no signs of aggression. If you are interested in this precious little orphan girl, please contact Southern ROOTS Rescue for adoption info. info.southernrootsrescue@gmail.com
