My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET LITTLE HENRY:

Our sweet, friendly 1.5 year old, 7.5 lb Dachshund/Chihuahua is asking, 'Hey! What does this little guy have to do to make you love him too?' In 1955, Rythm and Blues singer Etta James would have said 'You've got to roll with me, Henry.' WELL...our LITTLE HENRY is no 'wallflower' and he will willingly roll or dance his way right into your heart. HENRY enjoys walking and playing outside; he loves car rides and of course, chasing squirrels. If that wasn't enough to impress the ladies, HENRY is soft, loves cuddles and likes getting his teeth brushed and then showing off his pearly whites. Like all dachshunds, HENRY craves love and affection so his forever family should be with someone who works part-time, or works from home and can spend a lot of time with him.

UPDATE FROM HENRY'S FOSTER FAMILY:
LITTLE HENRY'S appetite is healthy. He does well with other dogs and is learning to socialize. He enjoys going for rides in the car and loves to look out the window. When he has the chance, he also has a great time running around the back yard and playing with his foster brothers and sisters. He FULL of love and energy and will make a great addition to his forever family.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give LITTLE HENRY a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
