My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

EMBER - German Shepherd mix, female, ~ 8 years, 50 lbs. Ember recently came to Peppertree from a NYC shelter. She is a petite girl for a shep mix at not quite 50 lbs! Ember is housebroken, knows sit and down, and mostly walks well on leash but does pull some when excited. She rides well in the car and loves to meet new people. About other dogs, the jury is still out - she seems to be fine with some and a bit defensive with others. A proper, unhurried introduction to a resident dog would be necessary to check compatibility. But it is with people that Ember shines. While she rejects the adjective "middle-aged" and still has plenty of energy for a good walk or jog, she also likes a good scratch behind the ears and then to snuggle on the couch with her person. Note: visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.
