EMMA MAE - Lab mix, female, ~2 years, ~50 lbs. EMMA MAE is a petite chocolate Lab mix who came to us from a southern shelter where she had been brought in as a stray. She is a must-see diamond in the rough. It seemed that maybe she was a dog whose life up until now only consisted of being tied outside in someone's yard, as she was unsocialized and fearful of the world in general. Emma makes progress towards becoming more social everyday. She needs a patient home that will give her time to settle in and trust. Emma likes other dogs, and a confident dog in the home would help her come out of her shell, so we will only place her in a home with another dog, but she doesn't do well with cats. Emma shouldn't go to a home with young children as she is easily startled. She is house trained, walks well on a leash, and rides well in the car.
