WALKER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!Walker is a very handsome, timid 2 year old male Beagle/Shep mix. Walker can be a little shy in new situations and with new people, but he warms up very quickly. Once he does, he's a very affectionate, loving and gentle boy. Poor Walker has basically lived his whole life in an 8X10 dog run with his two brothers (who have been adopted!!), their previous owners turned them in when they decided they no longer had time for time. Walker has not been exposed to a lot of things yet, so he'll need a patient home that will help him come out of his shell and show him what being a dog is all about! He is a very gentle and loving guy and deserves a loving and permanent home. We thought we had rescue for Walker,but they backed out once it was discovered he was heartworm positive. We raised the funds to have him treated. He has been successfully treated, now all he needs is a family! Walker is crate trained but since we've only observed him in a kennel setting, we are unsure if he's housebroken. We do need potential adopters to be willing to possibly take on this task. Walker is currently awaiting rescue/adoption from a kill-shelter in southern IL. We would love to help him out, but all of our foster homes are filled. If interest is shown in him Walker can be transported to Chicago. He will be fully vetted, and prepared for adoption.
