My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jake is a true southern gentleman. He'll sit and give you his paw when you meet him! He is very sweet and laid back but don't let that fool you, this guy still has plenty of energy and a true zest for life. He really is the perfect companion and buddy, he's happy to hang out around the house and equally happy to have a good walk or exploration at the dog park. Jake enjoys the company of the resident dogs and has been great with kids too. Jake has the run of the house with the other dogs when foster mom is at work and sleeps with her at night.

Jake can be a bit excited around a cat so we are not sure a cat would really enjoy having Jake join the household. Pretty much anyone other than a cat will love having Jake around though! Jake just brings a smile to everyone who meets him.

Jake is estimated to be 8 years old, and weighs 52 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom & dad are!), we are just guessing on breed. Either way, Jake is a great dog and would make someone or a family very happy.

All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday January 10, 2015, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
