My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

So soft and pretty, Camille makes it easy to fulfill her petting desires!! Camille is right around two years old. She is housebroken, if crated, while we'€™re sleeping or away from home. Thus, Camille will do well with either a family that prefers to continue this practice or with a family that will patiently transition her into a dog who may one day roam freely about the house. Camille is wonderful with our 11 year old daughter, but sometimes tires of our 6 year old as she expects Camille to be her CONSTANT companion. She thinks Camille is her pillow, doll, playmate, napkin, etc. Yes, I did say napkin as she'€™d rather have Camille lick her face clean than to use an actual napkin herself! Camille fulfills this job with gentleness.

Another reason why Camille is crated when we are gone and while we are asleep is because our children do not consistently return their toys to the rightful place, which makes it difficult for Camille to know which ones are hers and which ones are not and she likes chewing. Fortunately, she does not chew shoes or clothing. Camille watches attentively when we eat in front of the TV and might go for the steal if we walk away. We are working with her on basic commands. She knows sit, paw, and high five. She has quickly learned the playful commands since our girls enjoy those more. We'€™re still working with her on down, come, and stay.

She loves her daily walks and has become better with her leash manners. She also enjoys hanging her tongue out the window while riding in the car, but she is not well mannered when left alone in a car with nothing to do. Although she enjoyed the company of another foster dog before he was adopted, she seemed to have more energy than he did. Thus we feel that she would do well with a playmate closer to her age (he was 6-7 years old). We haven’t had the opportunity to observe how Camille might fair with cats and we don’t have any. The adoption fee is $100. To meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454.
