My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the Magnificent Mutts of SAFE Class XVIII! This class is proving to be an outstanding one, and why not? Studies have shown that MUTTS (Mixed Uniquely, Terrifically Trained, at SAFE) are healthier, live longer, and are more intelligent than their purebred brothers and sisters. These dogs have been in training for only two weeks and are amazing their trainers with their grasp of commands and tricks. The dogs are neutered, housetrained, crate trained, able to walk on a loose leash, on flea/tick/heartworm preventative, and able to perform tricks. Their graduation date is June 13, 2014 and applications will be taken until May 30. Please go to safehavenky@gmail.com to request an application. The adoption fee is $150.00.
We like big mutts and we cannot lie! And Big Mutt Goofy is one special boy of whom we are especially fond. What's not to like? Goofy does really well with the other dogs and plays with each according to the other dog's strength, size, and ability. He is very gentle with the little ones and will rough house with the larger breeds. Goofy lives to retrieve tennis balls and brings them right back to his handlers. He is about 70 pounds of Lab, Australian Shepherd, with just a little Great Pyrenees thrown in for good measure. He has already mastered his commands and is working through his fear issues with men. He does think he's a lap dog and climbs up into his handlers' laps quite often...they don't mind a bit. Goofy is approximately a year and a half. Goofy does have a deformed right paw...it looks like he has a giant thumb. This doesn't slow him down a bit, though when he plays all day, he may have a very slight limp, which his trainers call a "swagger."
