Gypsy's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.

Gypsy's Story...
Gypsy is a smaller, 1 1/2-2 year old, spayed Labrador blend. She's a bit nervous and that anxiety has taken her energy level to a new high but we expect she will maintain a high energy level even when settled into a new home. She's very bright and attentive, sitting on command but briefly, trying to work on lead but in need of regular training and consistency. Gypsy likes treats and loves toys keeping her eye on the prize whenever possible which should also work well in the training area. Gypsy is gentle, but still a little mouthy, she tolerates full body handling. She has a lovely dark brown to black coat with lighter burnished brown under coat giving her a striking appearance. Because of her energy we'd only recommend her to a home with older children, over eight, and somewhere she'd receive lots regular exercise and extended handling. Please NO CATS! To arrange a play date with Gypsy contact the rescue or stop in during operating hours.

If you want to apply for Gypsy click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gypsy, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
