Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Grayson. I am a sweet and loving 10 year old, 16 pound, reddish tan boy. My sister, Aubrey, and I were surrendered to a local shelter after going through a state to state move and moving into an apartment, which we did not acclimate to. We are now adjusting beautifully to being in our new foster home.
Shortly after arriving in Rescue, I went for a visit to the vet where they discovered a yucky infection in my mouth that was making me feel really bad. They had to take some of my teeth out, but that doesn’t slow me down! I like to eat and I will let you know when it is time to do so by putting my paw on the dog food container and giving a quick reminder bark that it is DINNER TIME.
While at the vet we also discovered that my vision is fairly limited due to cataracts. I have enough vision to get around in a new place, but am a little uneasy at first-it just takes me a little time to learn my way around and then I am off and trotting with a wagging tail. If I can't find you I will call for you and run right up to give you kisses when I find you. I am also one of those rare iggies that will actually give a bark to let you know I want to go outside and potty. If you have to leave me to run an errand, I do well in a confined space and guess what else...I know how to use a potty pad! Since there is lots of sun damage on my back, it seems that I have spent way too much time outdoors during my previous life. I am now on a healthy nutritious diet and some fish oil supplements in hopes of getting my beautiful coat back to tip-top shape.
I LOVE to play with stuffed squeaky toys and will bring them back to you as long as Aubrey doesn’t get them first and hide them in the bed! I like to lay in the bed and if you will lay with me that is even better! I like to be with you!
Although I would like to find my forever with Aubrey in tow, it is not mandatory that we be placed together. At first, everyone thought it might be best for us to stay together because of my poor vision, but turns out that I am quite the independent and confident boy! I do enjoy the companionship of other dogs, so a furry brother or sister would be a very nice bonus.
