My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES THE STAZIA' INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!!

Stazia' pronounced "stah-zee-ah", came to us via a high intake shelter.

Underweight and trauma to her rear foot as well as over 20 ticks were pulled off of her indicate another derelict owner who neglected their dog then dumped her because she became an inconvenience.

Beautiful sweet natured Stazia' was shot in the foot. According to the vet who had treated her initially when the trauma occurred 7 months ago, there were powder burns and metal fragments from a close proximity firing.

While IDGSR staff have seen many horrible things done to these dogs, it is still no less shocking and disheartening that someone could exhibit such cruelty.

Stazia will be available for adoption soon, however is currently on medical hold for a few weeks. As you can well see her foot now has a deformity, she can walk on it and the pads do touch the floor when she is standing however when laying down the foot as you can see in the picture has an upturn to it.

There were numerous broken bones that have fused and healed now and we have those xrays for the adopter. The vet an orthopedic surgeon also stated that due to the segmented parts of the foot, that doing anything more at this point is not possible, the best outcome for Stazia' at this point is that she can walk on that foot however she's not going to be a long distance runner or jogging partner. She will do best with a family who gives her moderate exercise and does not over tax her. Stazia is 3.5 yrs. old.

Stazia' is very affectionate, loving and wants to be close to her person just as any German Shepherd does.

Like anyone whether person or animal with a handicap or missing limb,

it can take some time to get used to it, you always want to look and stare at it.

Stazia' s resilient personality is not letting this hold her back in life, She has so much love to give and will be a blessing to the person(s) who bring her into their lives.

If you would like to make Stazia' a member of your family, please apply with this rescue by copying and pasting the link below.
