Helios's Story...
Name: Helios
Color: Buff Tabby
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Gender: Male
Age: 4 years
Helios is a confident and mellow guy looking for his forever home. He is available for adoption at Whatcom Humane Society.
Big fan of: He loves attention and will purr and roll onto his side when you pet him.
Not a fan of: Helios does not like other cats and would need to be the only feline in the home.
Special features: Being a long-haired cat, frequent brushing is necessary to prevent his fur from matting.
Dream Home: Helios can get over-stimulated with too much attention and may try to give "love bites". Because of this, Helios would do best in an adult only home, but he may be able to live with children 15 years or older who will respect his space. He is confident enough to live with a cat-savvy dog that will not chase him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Helios, a Bellingham Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
