My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zara is an approximately 1.5 y/o cheeky female who would love a new home. She had a litter of pups on her 1st heat when she was merely a puppy herself. Zara was severely emaciated by the time she was rescued. She is REALLLY bright and responds easily to positive training. She has learned the commandsSit, down, off, come, stay, in, out, give, hold it, wait, high-5, shake, shake other one, double high 5, go-on, bed, yes, no, eat, move, stop, have to go out?, go pee, go poop, back up, pick it up & find it. She would benefit highly from an additional obedience class with her new people.

During her foster period she gained 15 lbs in a few short weeks and now a couple months later has filled out nicely and gaining muscle mass. Zara really enjoys the good life;%9D warmth, comfort, blankies and snuggles. She enjoys a good romp daily and mental stimulation games. For a bigger dog ( she is about 60 lbs) she is highly agile and can/will get up on chairs, furniture and use them to her benefit (like to score your dinner). She would likely excel in agility or a similar dog sport. Due to starvation in her early days she should not be trusted with food items alone at this time and high value treats/toys should not be left within reach when there are other dogs around. (there have been no problems but precautionary) She IS NOT food aggressive with people at all.

Zara should have an adult only or older children home. Her favourite treats are raw bones and peanut butter so be prepared to share. For the most part Zara is a MUFFIN! She loves to snuggle up beside you on the couch for a movie or lounge outside on the deck soaking up the sun. She is crate trained for sleeping (or not) willingly uses her crate. She is now completely house trained and will let you know when she needs to go out. She is a fairly polite rider in the vehicle but again do not leave food products alone with her. She LOVES toys and will entertain herself for long periods of time with them. Zara will be fully vaccinated, micro chipped and spayed prior to adoption.
