Venus's Story...
I’m Venus…like the goddess, not the planet. That’d be silly, naming a beauty like me after some strange planet in outer space! Sure, I may be outta this world but you’ve seen Botticelli’s Venus, haven’t you? Beautiful! Ya, that’s more like it...she’s just like me! I’m very smart and still just an adolescent. A little training is what I need— some tasks to put my big brains to work. I’m as affectionate as I am smart, did I mention that? One thing I am not is confident. Nope, I could use a little more self-confidence, especially in new and stressful situations. I love meeting new people, but sometimes I do get a little nervous. I just love to play with other dogs, what a goofy girl I am! I also get along great with cats and respectful children, too. So much personality, so much brains and soooo much beauty! 10 months old-47lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes: spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Venus, a Portland Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
