Sweets's Story...
AVAILABLE 04-18-14 Some how this little teenage kitten found himself in a cat trap when he thought he was just getting a free breakfast. An Animal Control Officer picked up the trap with kitten inside and brought both to the Animal Shelter. It was quite apparent that this little guy was super sweet so he was named Sweets. We cleaned him up, vaccinated him and put in a cage with a warm bed. Sweets has certainly lived up to his name -he is so sweet - constantly rubs against the gate to his cage to be petted. He has now been neutered and is ready for a loving family to call his own. We're thinking Sweets is under a year old, so still has some kitten playfulness in him. Don't you think you'd like to add Sweets the friendly feline to your family?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweets, a Elizabeth City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
