My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Petunia. I‘m a teeny little girl rescued from a South Carolina shelter. The shelter thought I was about five years old, but the vet thinks I am a little older...maybe 7-8. I can‘t remember!

I have been a really good and sweet girl for everyone. I ride very nicely in the car and appreciate all of the nice folks who drove me all over.

I have become well acquainted with the vet because I am in pretty rough shape from neglect. Dr. Mitchell put me on antibiotics and ear medicine to start with. They also took blood. I will need to be spayed, have two growths removed, have a dental done, and get my nails trimmed. I am also heartworm positive. My heartworm is Grade 3, and I have some lung inflamation. I have something called lungworm which is contributing to my lung inflamation. My surgeries are on hold until we can get my heartworm treated because I can't go under anesthesia.

Even with all of that going on, I am SOOOO happy to be here. I love living inside and having comfy things. As you can see from my new picture above, I have gained some weight, my coat is coming in, and we had the growth removed from my face. I am continuing to make good progress and will post more updates soon. xxooxx Petunia
