My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey, hey, hey, my name is Bear (my foster mom says I walk like the A&W bear, and my foster dad loves my huge paws). Thank you for taking time to read about me. I’m an older male Labrador Retriever mix. I’m sturdy, medium sized at about 35 lbs (maybe more because I love food), with long black fur that my foster mom gets cut short regularly because I arrived in bad condition with a skin infection from fleas, and full of burrs and ticks. My sister, Miki, and I were very neglected then abandoned by our first family when they moved. That is when the rescue took us in. Miki looks just like me but has short, glossy fur. Miki and I would really love to be adopted together because we are very close.

I live in Tennessee with my foster family. They love me and think I am smart, endearing, laid back, and adorable (am I blushing yet?) I am housebroken and use the dog door. I don’t chew on anything except soft treats and a toy or two, but I do love to talk and bark to let you know that something is going on somewhere, just so you can be prepared.

I’m loving, medium energy, good natured, enjoy treats, and love napping and a good body scratching. I enjoy the outdoors, a run in the woods, and roughhousing with the other dogs in our big yard. I walk well on a leash, and always stay close to home. I get along with other dogs and am good around older children but I’ve never met a cat. I would prefer being part of a one or two-dog family (my sister Miki needs a home too). I wish for a place to nap comfortably, preferably close to you, I prefer the floor to most furniture but I do love big comfy chairs and, at night, I like to sleep on my dog bed in your room so I can be close to you. Have you already decided to adopt me? Just know that I wish every day for a family to call my own, a family who will always love and look after me. In return, I will be loyal, and steadfast in my love for you.

Rest assured that I’m healthy, neutered, heart worm negative, and up to date on shots. My adoption fee is $75, plus $150 for transport should I need to go on the pet transport to get home to you. I am sitting here dreaming that you are my perfect family? If you think that you are, please contact Louise Vande Wiele at 615 500 3164 for more information.
