My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a sweet little girl? This cocker is friendly, outgoing and would love to spend time with you. She does require a fenced backyard to do her business.

My name is Rosie. My story is a sad one and never should have happened, so I am a victim who paid the price! I am a sweet, black cocker girl about 6 years old who was used for breeding and never received love, kindness or proper care for any medical issues. I was an owner surrender to animal control here at a NC shelter, but thanks to a nice CCR volunteer, the staff contacted him and I came to rescue.

At the rescue vet they quickly learned that I had heartworm issues last year, but I was never treated for it, I was just put on monthly heartgard. The vet says it's a miracle that I actually now test as heartworm negative as this is usually not the way to cure it. They also learned that I had ugly, horrible ear issues that should have been treated, never were, and due to chronic neglect of this and skin problems over the years.........my only option was to have major ear ablation done to both ears to ease my pain. I am now spayed and to help my skin, they have put me on a hypo-allergenic food diet. I am dog social, child friendly and a real sweetheart considering everything that I've been through. I am so happy that I am getting so much attention, proper care and that somebody actually cares about me so much. I will do best in a home with another dog that is dog social and would love a pal to spend time with and I will need a fenced yard to go outside and do my business. Please help this nice rescue organization by donating to my care as my special food diet is $92 for a 27.60 pound bag. I am a sweet girl, I love attention and love and I am a friendly, happy, very outgoing cocker. I'd love to be your sweet baby girl.

If you are interested in adopting this sweet cocker girl, please send an email to: larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an adoption application. Our adoption fee is $300, which
includes all of the vetting needs for this dog since they have been in rescue.
