Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bear Bear is a 4-5 year old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix boy who was found after being neglected and abused by a family who let him roam the very busy highway they lived on. His fur was matted and he was not neutered and probably had no shots at all. This sweet boy is 5 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. He is currently being fostered in a rural area of Tennessee. His foster family includes a 3 year old boy as well as a 8 year old girl. He does very well with kids knowing when to play and is calm when needed. He loves to go on walks and play fetch at his foster's home. He stays inside during the night as well as sometimes during the day but whenever he wants to go play outside he sits by the door and waits to be let out. Typically he checks things out, says hi to everyone and then lays down close to someone. He lives with a female Chocolate Lab as his foster sibling. They get along very well and Bear Bear has also had other dogs to play with recently as in large males and he does well with them too. Bear Bear understands sit, shake and no. He will chase a ball or toy and bring it back (most of the time). He loves to be outside with the family but without a fence he stays on a leash. He loves his treats and is a very quick learner. He likes to get in a car or truck any time he finds the door open. He wishes to please, so feels guilty when he has done something wrong and comes up seeking approval. Bear Bear is a very sweet and tender-hearted soul just seeking to be loved and treated well. He will need a person or family that will spend lots of time with him. He likes to be close and will lay by your side. We do not think he would be happy or do well if not given this. He does spend time alone while his foster is at work and at night. He is not bothered by this, but he does also get plenty of exercise and attention. A person that understands and has experience with this type of dog would be best for Bear Bear, along with a fenced yard to keep him safe. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
