My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Houston, Texas and must be adopted within the Texas or Oklahoma City area.

NAME: Mia
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 8 - 9 years
WEIGHT: About 4.5 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Great with cats (she ignores them)
CHILDREN: Recommend an all adult home

Meet Mia. The name "Mia" has both an Italian origin meaning "mine" and a Slavic origin meaning "dear, darling". All of these words perfectly describe little Mia.

Mia was a recent owner surrender to CRT. Her original family could no longer care for her. They really wanted her to have a safe forever home, and turned to CRT for help. We couldn't help but say "yes".

Mia is a young 8-9 years old. As an adult dog she has a great personality and perfect energy level. She gets along wonderfully with the other Chihuahuas in her foster home. She really enjoys playing with them and hanging around them. After a day of playing, Mia enjoys burrowing under covers in her doggie bed and hanging around her humans. When you are in the room, she will come out for some socialization and some belly rubs. Then back to relaxing and preparing for the next round of playing! At 8 years, she is considered an adult dog but she has a great energy level and is an active part of the family.

Mia has a such a great personality. She is a happy little girl who loves life and loves her family. She wants to fit in and be loved. Mia has an adorable "prance" when she is happy or anticipating family fun. She is quiet (not much of a barker). Mia has beautiful black coat with tan highlights.

Mia is also really smart. She is potty trained and she also knows how to use a doggie dog. Mia is also crate trained, and enjoys sleeping with a comfortable blanket in her crate at night.

Mia is missing a few teeth but that sure doesn't stop her from eating. She loves to eat! We can't believe she has kept her beautiful 4.5 pound figure all these years. LOL. Because of her small size, we recommend Mia be adopted into an all adult home. At 8 - 9 years, she has many years left ahead of her (many Chihuahuas live to be 14-18 years old). We know there is a perfect home for her that will adore this little angel.

Mia is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
