Patches's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Patches's Story...
Patches gets the award for most improved dog. He was very frightened for the first few days at the shelter, but blossomed into a happy, outgoing little guy. He enjoys romping with the other "littles" in play group, and is very affectionate with his human volunteer friends.

Being harnessed makes him a little edgy, but he is making great progress. On walks Patches can still startle easily from loud noises, and cars make him a bit nervous. Otherwise, he is not dog reactive, and periodically looks at you for guidance….this is a very good sign with regard to training.

Patches would love to meet you. Once you get to know him, you will see why he has a growing fan club.

Act quickly to adopt Patches. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patches, a Berkeley Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
