My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABBY will be 5 years old on July 11th. She’s a miniature beagle that lost her home due to her owner becoming disabled and no longer able to care for her. He was so poor that he could not afford dog food and fed her his food. When we got her 2 months ago she weighed 31 lbs. We have worked hard on her weight loss and she now weighs 24 lbs. but should only weigh 15 lbs.

She is a very loving and sweet dog and enjoys lap time, snuggles and sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She gets along great with the other dogs, loves kids and even cats. In fact she loves other dogs so much we would like to see her go to a family with another dog. She loves to take walks and whoever adopts her has to be committed to walking her and continuing with our weight loss efforts. She walks very well on a leash.

She is house trained but likes to go out often and enjoys hanging out in the back yard playing with the other beagles. She knows how to use a doggie door. She is a quiet girl and rarely barks. Abby has to take a pill once a day for hyperthyroidism. The cost is only 18 cents per day and she will come with a 4 month supply.
