My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! Lucky here! And yes, I have been lucky since I was taken to the animal control facility by my previous owner who could no longer care for me. The doctors there determined I had heartworm, not a good diagnosis for a mature 7 year old girl like me. However, a really nice volunteer there made sure I got the heartworm treatment and now I am feeling much better!! She even got in contact with the nice people here at Midwest BREW and helped me get a foster home. That’s when things started really looking up!!

I have been in my foster home for a few weeks now and I really like it here. I have two foster brothers, who are younger than me and play alot. A mature girl like me doesn't have time for all that goofing off. I just tell them I'm really not interested in playing and they leave me alone. They also share their toys with me but I am not very interested. I'm not sure I had any toys before. Don’t get me wrong… I like my foster brother and I get along fine with them. We check out the back yard together!! Lots of great hound smells there! But I’m just a laid back kind of girl and I like to have my own time. It’s a girl thing…

I haven't explored the backyard fully as I still need to take it easy after completing my treatments. Foster mom says I am really acting like I feel better. I will need to take heartworm preventative every other week for the next six months, but foster mom says that that's no big deal!
Since I am feeling better, my personality is really starting to show! Did you see how my tail is wagging in my pics? Foster mom says my tail never stops wagging! I’m just so happy to have a new chance at life!
As you can see from my pictures, I found a really comfy chair to nap in in my foster home. At night, I sleep in a dog bed right next to foster mom’s bed.
I like to roll around on my back and I absolutely LOVE to be petted. You can find me sitting in front of foster mom with my paws in her lap. And yes, I know how to sit!

As you can tell, I am fairly low energy and not rowdy like some of those other guys. I am low maintenance and as sweet as can be!! If you need someone to keep your couch warm, I'm there! Help me find my furever home and my tail will wag even more!!!
