Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ellie is searching for a home with order and tons of loving attention - we suspect she's never had that truly adoring and committed family. Farfel's is searching for the perfect fit for our sweet girl. Ellie is a poodle (she may have a bit of something else in there...we're just not sure since she looks for all the world like a Poodle) and currently weighs 9 pounds - she's definitely too thin and should weigh about 11-12 lbs. She is a non-shedder and considered one of the best breeds for those with allergy concerns.. Ellie was a stray and found in Erie, Colorado..and just too sweet to leave wandering the streets. She is approximately 3 years old and has been spayed and brought utd on all shots. The following is what Elly's foster mom had to say about our wonderful pup:
Ellie is very loving and sweet. She is overjoyed with attention and lap-time. Time with her family is first on Ellie's list... she desires to be engaged with.. or at the heels of her owner. She is a fairly submissive pup who really enjoys other dogs and cats as well as humans.
Ellie is a bit timid and we feel had been traumatized at some time in her life. She requires a quiet home with a consistent schedule and a family who enjoys spending their time with an adorable girl who has a lot of love to give. Ellie would be in heaven to go everywhere with her favorite people after she's given the time to adjust to a committed and very loving home. She likes kids (but would enjoy the time and attention of a retired person or couple) and is very gentle. I have never experienced any aggressive or challenging behavior from Ellie.
Ellie walks very well on a leash, is very well house- broken and likes the security of her crate. She is food -motivated (and therefore has proven very willing around training) and loves to play fetch with her tennis ball. She is under- weight due to her time on the streets as a stray. However, she is now eating regularly and gaining weight...she really likes eggs and chews on a bone often.
Ellie will come joyfully on command.. but will tuck her tail and become very nervous if a harsh tone is used. She is quite afraid of boots and large men (maybe kicked in the past?) but will warm up with a bit of time and can truly love a man if he is kind and loving . There's no question that Ellie LOVES women and quickly warms up and bonds with them. Ellie would be a perfect fit for a stable and very engaged home. Group obedience classes would bring out her confidence and cement the bonding process. All in all...I've fallen hard in love with her. She's a gem!
Elly is currently being fostered in Denver. Applications are being accepted for this sweet and kind best friend.
