This big guy is Max. Max is a 100 lb. dry-mouth, smooth coat St. Bernard. What is dry-mouth you ask? That means he doesn't drool.Who knew that? He's house-trained , very sweet and loving, and for a Saint Benard. He will definitely need to learn leash manners - he is a strong boy. Max is fine with other dogs but should not be in a home with cats. He was surrendered because he is a fence jumper. The fence was 5 feet tall. Max needs a forever home. One that will love and cherish him no matter what.
If you would like to adopt Max, please contact Brooke at doubledogbrooke@gmail.com
Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
