HI!

My name is Cappy

I am a shelter survivor, and I'll tell ya, its been quite a journey for me. Once upon a time, I had a family, and they were awesome. Sadly they fell on some very hard times, and couldn't properly care for me, and I wound up at the shelter.

Of course, that was a very scary place. There were so many dogs and not all of them made it out alive. I was one of the lucky ones! My foster family are nice and all, but my favorite dream is a family of my own.

I am a really low key, mellow guy who would love to share your life. (Sounds a little like a dating website right? Truth be known, I'm a Casanova who really wants to snuggle on the couch and watch TV with you.) I am really the ideal guy, mature, super affectionate, and just waiting to give you love. I would also love to enjoy the great outdoors with you, nothing as good as a nice walk. I walk great on the leash.

Everyone who meets me, LOVES ME, even kids! Lucky for you, I am housetrained, One condition... If you bring me home, it has to be a monogamous relationship, no other dogs please! I do promise to be a wonderful companion, who will be great in the house and a cuddly bunny, Am I "the one"?

I am about five years old, and about 50 lbs, utd on shots and neutered. IF YOU'D LIKE TO MEET ME, A VISIT IS EASY! PLEASE CONTACT REBOUNDHOUDS@GMAIL.COM and my rescue will get right back to you ... Thanks!

About Rebound Hounds ResQ - NY Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Rebound Hounds Res-Q believes that there’s a great home for every dog. How to make that happen is the real work of rescue. We’re committed to bringing dogs and guardians together who are right for each other. We do it by knowing the dog, and knowing the prospective guardian.

First, we know the dogs we place. We seek out temperament evaluations from ACC staff and ACC volunteers in the attempt to pair dogs with the right home. It’s not perfect, but it goes a long way toward getting a feel for who the dog should go to.

Next, we learn about the adopters. We look at lifestyle, energy level, experience, tolerances. It’s communicating about expectations and commitment, not just for the next few weeks when the dog comes into their life, but for life.

Last, we stay in touch. After the initial home visit, we’re available to offer help, support and advice. We welcome knowing how everyone is settling in. Pictures are great, an occasional email. Our job is to support the owner and dog throughout the process.

Shelter dogs are a unique challenge because they have pasts we often can’t know. What we do know is that once matched with the right guardian — with time, respect and patience — a shelter dog offers unparalleled love and gratitude every day, in every way, to the person who saved them. It is unlike any other relationship on earth.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption application, references, and vet reference required.

Once these are completed, Home visit arranged, followed by meet and greet. This ensures that the adoptive home and pet are the best possible match.
