5/23/15 - While Jax is showing improvement, he is still having some issues adapting to life in a loving home. He is coming along, but really needs patient loving people around him.

Currently, when Jax gets overwhelmed he tends to want to "get up close and personal" with his mouth towards whatever is annoying him (or anything/anyone in his way.) We are working on this, but it will take some time to convince him to be a lover/not a fighter.

1/15/15 - Time for a Jax update! Jax has had a bit of a trying time adjusting to life in a loving home. As you can see from his original photos he was either neglected or left to live alone outside for a very long time.

He is a bit of a challenge at times, but is a very sweet boy. He as come a long way and is getting a bit better about being handled; but he still needs more rehab time. He can be bathed cautiously and his hair trimmed a bit; but his foster mom is taking it in baby steps. In the end he will be a super loving wonderful pet! Just going to take a bit more time.

5/22/14 - Jax is doing well. He goes on short leash walks throughout the day. He is walking better and better! He is on crate rest and will be for about 6 more weeks. His eyes looked much improved. He has an appointment next week to have his sutures removed.

5/11/14 - Jax had surgery to repair his pelvis on May 7. He was discharged from the hospital on May 9. He was shaved down and was seen by the eye doctor. He is being treated for a bacterial skin infection and infection of his eyelids. He also is being medicated for pain and is on crate rest. He is coming along well but his recovery will be slow.

5/6/14 - Jax was admitted to GCVS. Will update as we know more.

5/6/14 - We received an emergency call about a yorkie that was found on the side of the road late yesterday. He spent the night at the Emergency Clinic where he was found to have a severly fractured pelvis. He is very dirty and matted...his eyes were full of green discharged...the EC cleaned his face up as best they could. He is of course on pain medications. He is on his way this morning to see Dr. Beale at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston.

Anything you can do to help financially will be appreciated. This surgery is definitely going to be in the thousands. Jax is a young man and deserves a chance at a good life!

Please, please pray that they can help him!

About Yorkie Haven Rescue, Inc. - TX

About Our Rescue Group...

Yorkie Haven Rescue Group was founded in 2006 and we are an approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our caring volunteers share their many talents to ensure that all yorkies we rescue from "throwaway land" are safe and can live their lives in a loving, healthy and safe environment - a haven where they will be forever loved.

We have a wonderful base of volunteers located throughout the United States, have no paid staff and are funded solely by kind donations from the public. Before any rescue is placed in a forever home, the pup is spayed/neutered, heartworm checked and made current on all vaccines.
