My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Josie!
Josie is a very alert and observant young girl. She’s also very smart and well-mannered, housebroken and crate-trained. She knows sit and down, and is learning to patiently wait for her food and for the cue at the door before going outside. Josie keeps all fours on the floor and knows not to jump up when meeting people. She picks up new commands quickly and easily. As a puppy, Josie is learning new things every day and it’s important that her forever family look for ways to exercise her physically and mentally.

Josie enjoys daily walks and long backyard play sessions where she can run freely. She enjoys tug-o-war and playing “keep away” with her canine foster brothers. Josie loves stretching out and laying in the green grass when playtime is over.

Josie is a very sweet and social puppy. She enjoys people but also loves interacting with other dogs. She currently lives with three canine foster brothers. She plays appropriately, and quickly picks up cues from other dogs if her play becomes too rough and puppy-like.

She loves receiving attention and affection. Josie is a typical happy-go-lucky puppy who really likes to play. She loves settling down next to her humans and her favorite chew toys until she falls fast asleep. She prefers spending time with her people or other dogs and would rather not be alone for long. She’s excited to greet people and stay close to them when they return home.

Finally, Josie is a silly puppy who brings lots of laughter and smiles to people who meet her. She has mastered the pittie "frog legs" position and loves to do the "army crawl" through the grass. If you sit on the floor with her she will snuggle into you and give sweet puppy kisses for hours. How can you pass this sweet girl up?

Josie’s adoption fee is $300 and she’s located in Milwaukee, WI. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
