Get ready for Desiree, the traveling kitty! LiFeline Adoptions is accepting a transfer from a rescue in Ohio called PAWS, of this gorgeous and very affectionate FIV+ kitty. But sadly, it is very clear to us that she was abused as evidenced by her ducking when you reach to pet her so we are working on changing how she is petted so she doesn't get scared and to learn not to be afraid of peoples hands. Despite her abuse, she does not exhibit hostility but does do some "protective" swats or little nips if you keep you hand over her too long.

Desiree is an incredibly sweet 1 year old girl who showed up on a kind lady's doorstep at the end of January, 2014. She was given daily food and a puppy crate in a front hall to snuggle in when the weather outside was too cold for survival. Currently, Desiree is in a PAWS foster home. She loves snuggles, belly rubs, and food. She's very affectionate and loves to be the center of attention. She's not a big fan of dogs, so she'd do best in a cat only household, but I promise if you give her the opportunity, she will brighten your life with her affection and sunny disposition.

Having FIV is not a death sentence or guarantee of illness. With the right nutrition, low stress and lots of love, these cats can live long happy healthy lives. These cats deserve the same chances as any other and most often end up living good lives and making folks very happy!

Desiree will be here as of May 15th and available for adoption right away.We will add more personal characteristics as we get to know her better in foster here.
