Mickey's Story...

Mickey Mantle was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Like all puppies, she’s just about 1, she has an high level of energy. She would best be placed in a home with older children. She is spayed and UTD on her shots. She has Cherry Eye, which I’m treating with drops.  S he is a loving cuddle bug, who just wants to be loved. She just hates to be separated from her “people”. So you’d have a shadow wherever you go.  She has had no training, so I’m working on that. She’s picked up “sit” quickly and comes when called.   She is crate trained and I’m working on house-breaking.

She’s great with other dogs, at home and out in public. Cats, not so good. Mickey just wants to play but my cat doesn’t. She would love a dog to play and run with.  She does counter surf, she’s taught me to put all dishes in the dishwasher immediately, but again, I’m working on that. She just needs some guidance and patience. She is an awesome baby and with training, she will be a wonderful housemate.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Raleigh Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Raleigh, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Raleigh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Raleigh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Raleigh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Raleigh paves the way for another one to be saved.
