Eliza's Story...
It doesn't get much cuter than Eliza! She is an adorable girl and she is ready to be pre-adopted at this time. Then at 9 weeks, she can be picked up. If she is less than two pounds at that time, she will be given her first vaccination before going home and then her spay will be scheduled for three weeks later and she will need to come back to us for a day at that time. If she is 2 pounds by 9 weeks, she will be spayed and ready to go. All kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. The mom is tested for FIV/FELV. The adoption fee for kittens is $80 for one and $130 for two.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Eliza, a Des Moines Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Des Moines, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Des Moines.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Des Moines already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Des Moines breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Des Moines paves the way for another one to be saved.
